Manufactured in small quantities by the venerable Japanese company Inden-Ya exclusively for the Neue Galerie, these deerskin leather accessories unite the spirit of fin de siècle Vienna with the finest ancient Japanese lacquer technique. Based on a 1919 design by the great Viennese architect, Josef Hoffmann, Inden-Ya applies traditional "Urushi" lacquer decorations to the most exacting quality standard. Over time the velvety leather develops a sensual patina and these objects become coveted heirlooms.
