Few paintings have captured the public's imagination as thoroughly as Gustav Klimt's 1907 Adele Bloch-Bauer I. Klimt's painting of Adele not only rendered her irresistible beauty and sensuality; its intricate ornamentation and exotic motifs heralded the dawn of modernity and a culture intent on radically forging a new identity. But as synonymous as her likeness has become with Vienna’s Golden Age, the real Adele Bloch-Bauer remained somewhat shielded from the public eye. This book attempts to reveal and honor the remarkable life and legacy of Adele Bloch-Bauer and her husband Ferdinand, and their patronage of one of Austria’s most radical forebears of modernity.

ADELE'S KISS
With his seductive portraits of society women, Gustav Klimt defined the allure of fin-de-siècle Vienna. His sensuous portrait Adele Bloch-Bauer I (1907) is a dazzling creation, aglow with an air of mystery and magic. In celebration of Klimt’s masterpiece, the Neue Galerie Design Shop presents Liebling, an AERIN Rose Balm Lipstick evocative of the warm blush tones in Adele's lips. Liebling features a luxe texture, medium coverage, and a shine finish. The lipstick is packaged in golden rectangular case and presented in a custom black box featuring the portrait Adele Bloch-Bauer I.
